Family Photography at Moors Valley Country Park
There's something so special about family sessions that simply let children be children, and this lovely evening at Moors Valley Country Park was exactly that.
With Mum, Dad, their two daughters, and the beautiful woodland all around us, we spent the session exploring rather than posing for photos. It meant everyone could relax and simply enjoy spending time together, which always makes for the most natural images.
The youngest of the two sisters kept everyone smiling as we wandered through the trees. There was plenty of swinging between Mum and Dad, running along the woodland paths, collecting sticks, and carefully searching for the perfect log to sit on. Those little moments of curiosity and play are often the ones that tell the story of childhood best.
There were lots of giggles as Dad threw his youngest daughter up into the air, while her big sister happily joined in with the fun. We even had a game of chase around one of the huge trees before slowing things down for a few cuddles and some relaxed family portraits together.
We were lucky enough to have beautiful evening light filtering through the trees, giving everything that soft golden glow that makes woodland sessions at Moors Valley so magical.
One of the things I love most about photographing families outdoors is that there's no pressure to sit still or smile at the camera. Children can explore, play, laugh, and just be themselves, while I capture all the little interactions that you'll want to remember for years to come.
If you're looking for a relaxed family photography session in Dorset or the New Forest, Moors Valley is one of my favourite locations. With its winding woodland paths, open spaces, and beautiful natural light, it's the perfect place to create timeless family photographs while making wonderful memories together.
