Christchurch Dinner About Town
There are some events that are simply a joy to photograph, and this was definitely one of them.
The Christchurch Rotary Club organised a fantastic charity dining event to raise money in support of Parkinson’s, bringing together wonderful people, great food and plenty of laughter for a really worthwhile cause.
The evening started at Christchurch Sailing Club before guests made their way around four different restaurants in the town, enjoying a different part of the evening at each venue. The stops included Captains Club Hotel & Spa, The Priory Restaurant, The Boathouse, and Eighteen Restaurant & Bar at The Kings Arms.
From a photographer's point of view, it was a brilliant event to be part of. There was such a lovely atmosphere throughout the evening, with plenty of smiles, conversations and those little candid moments that make event photography so enjoyable.
I met so many lovely people while I was there, and there were definitely a few who gave me a good chuckle along the way! Those are often the moments I enjoy capturing most, the natural interactions, laughter and personalities that you don't always see when everyone is posing for a photograph.
Of course, there was one slight downside to being the photographer... I didn't actually get to eat any of the food myself!
While everyone else was enjoying their courses at each venue, I was busy making my way around with my camera, trying to capture the atmosphere and the people enjoying their evening. From what I could see, though, the food certainly looked like it was going down very well!
Most importantly, it was all for a fantastic cause. Parkinson's affects so many people and their families, so it was lovely to see the Christchurch community coming together to enjoy a great evening while helping to raise money and awareness.
A huge well done to Christchurch Rotary Club and everyone involved in organising the event, as well as the restaurants and everyone who came along and supported it.
