Scouting at Bucklers Hard

I spent a sunny afternoon exploring Buckler's Hard near Beaulieu ahead of a wedding I'll be photographing there in August 2026.

It's such a beautiful corner of the New Forest, with historic cottages, views across the Beaulieu River and plenty of lovely spots for photographs. The bright blue skies and warm weather made it easy to imagine how wonderful it will be on a summer wedding day.

After a wander through the village, we hopped on the ferry for a trip across the river and enjoyed seeing the area from the water. A stop for ice cream was essential in the heat before finishing the afternoon with a pub lunch at The Master Builder's House Hotel overlooking the river.
