Beaulieu
A hot summer day in Beaulieu called for plenty of ice cream and a slower pace than usual.
We spent the afternoon wandering through the village, spotting donkeys and ponies grazing nearby and seeking out patches of shade where we could find them. The New Forest always seems to slow life down a little, even on the warmest days.
With bright blue skies overhead and animals around every corner, it felt like one of those simple summer days that are worth remembering.
